# Firebase console: add a Remote Config parameter

## Steps
1. In the left nav, under Engage, select Remote Config.
2. If this is the project's first parameter, click Create configuration.
3. Click Add parameter.
4. In the Create parameter panel, enter the Parameter name.
5. Choose a Data type: String, Number, Boolean, or JSON.
6. Set the Default value; optionally toggle "Use in-app default" to keep local app defaults authoritative for that value.
7. Click Save.
8. Click Publish changes (top right) to make the parameter live.

## End state
The parameter appears in the Remote Config parameter list and is served to clients with matching SDK versions once published; unpublished edits stay as a draft.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
