# Auth0 Dashboard: register an API (resource server)

## Steps
1. Go to Dashboard → Applications → APIs.
2. Click + Create API.
3. Enter a Name.
4. Enter an Identifier — a unique string, recommended as a URL; Auth0 never calls this URL and it does not need to be publicly reachable.
5. Click Create.

## End state
The API is listed under APIs; its Identifier is now the `audience` value used in authorization calls, and it cannot be changed after creation. `https://example.com` and `https://example.com/` are treated as two different identifiers.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
