# Okta Admin Console: require MFA to sign in to the Admin Console

## Steps
1. Enable at least two authenticators for the org first (a phishing-resistant one, e.g. Okta FastPass or Passkey/FIDO2 WebAuthn, is recommended).
2. Go to Security → Authentication Policies.
3. Click App sign-in.
4. Open the Okta Admin Console policy.
5. Open the Admin App Policy rule in Edit mode.
6. Under "User must authenticate with", select the required 2-factor type(s).
7. Set any possession-factor constraints and choose how often to prompt ("Prompt for authentication").
8. Click Save.

## End state
Admins signing in to the Admin Console are now held to the configured MFA rule; the policy rule shows the updated conditions on the App sign-in → Okta Admin Console policy screen.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
