## Steps
1. In the Cloudflare dashboard, go to the **SSL/TLS Overview** page.
2. The current encryption mode (**Off**, **Flexible**, **Full**, **Full (strict)**, or **Origin Pull**) is shown there; choose a different one to change it.

## End state
The zone's edge-to-origin encryption behavior updates immediately to match the selected mode. To apply a mode only to specific hostnames rather than the whole zone, a configuration rule is needed instead.
