# Cloudflare: roll (rotate) an API token — My Profile → API Tokens → token → (⋯) → Roll → Confirm

## Steps
1. Go to **My Profile** > **API Tokens**.
2. Next to the token to rotate, select the three-dot icon (⋯) > **Roll**.
3. Select **Confirm** to generate a new secret for the token.

## End state
Rolling invalidates the previous secret immediately; the token keeps the same name, scope, and permissions, but a new secret value is generated (shown once) and the new token uses the scannable format so leak-detection tools can find it if exposed.
