# Jira Cloud: create a permission scheme — Settings → Work items → Permission Schemes → Add Permission Scheme

## Steps
1. Select "Settings", then "Work items" (requires the "Administer Jira" global permission).
2. Under "Work item attributes", scroll down and select "Permission Schemes".
3. Select "Add Permission Scheme".
4. Enter a name and a short description for the scheme.
5. Select "Add".

## End state
The new scheme appears in the Permission Schemes list; clicking into it lets an admin grant specific permissions (e.g. "Browse Projects", "Create Issues") to users, groups, or roles, and the scheme can then be associated with one or more projects.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
