# Stripe: submit evidence to respond to a dispute — Disputes tab → dispute → Counter dispute

## Steps
1. Open the **Disputes tab** in the Dashboard and select the dispute to review its category/reason.
2. Click **Counter dispute** to open the Stripe dispute response form.
3. On the first page, describe why the dispute is mistaken and the type of product/service originally purchased.
4. On the second page, attach supporting files to the checklist of evidence types relevant to the dispute category (one file per evidence type; combine multi-page evidence into a single file).
5. Check the box acknowledging the response is final, then submit.

## End state
The dispute's status becomes `under review`; evidence can't be amended or supplemented after submission. The card-issuing bank reviews it (up to ~3 months) and Stripe emails the `won`/`lost` outcome, also reflected in the `charge.dispute.closed` event and the Dashboard.
