# Stripe: find a failed payment's decline reason — Payments page → payment → outcome / decline code

## Steps
1. In the Dashboard, open **Payments** (or search for the payment by amount, card last4, or customer).
2. Click the failed payment to open its details page.
3. Read the payment's decline/outcome information on that page: for a card-issuer decline, Stripe shows the decline code it received from the issuer/network; for a payment blocked by Radar, the page shows the block reason instead of an issuer decline code.

## End state
The decline reason (issuer decline code, or Radar block reason) is visible on the payment details page, matching the Charge object's `outcome` attribute if checked via the API instead.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
