# Stripe: pause payment collection on a subscription — Subscriptions page → subscription → overflow (⋯) → Pause payment collection

## Steps
1. On the **Subscriptions** page, select the subscription.
2. Click the overflow menu (⋯) and select **Pause payment collection**.
3. Choose the duration: **Indefinite** or **Until a custom date**.
4. Choose the invoice behavior: **Keep invoices as drafts**, **Mark invoices uncollectible**, or **Void invoices**.

## End state
The subscription stays `active` and keeps generating invoices, but Stripe stops attempting to collect payment on them until collection is resumed (manually, or automatically on the chosen date).
