# Figma: move a file to another project — file browser → right-click file → Move file… → select folder → Move

## Steps
1. In the file browser, find the file to move.
2. Right-click the file's thumbnail and select "Move file…".
3. Search for the destination folder/project or choose from the default options shown.
4. Click "Move".
5. To move several files at once, hold Command (Mac) or Control (Windows) while selecting them, then right-click and select "Move [X] Files".

## End state
The file (or files) disappears from its old project location and appears under the selected destination project; its sharing permissions follow the destination unless explicitly overridden.

## Note
Inside an open file's canvas (rather than the file browser), the equivalent action may instead appear labelled "Move to project…".
