# Sentry: add an advanced data scrubbing rule — Settings → Security & Privacy → Advanced Data Scrubbing → Add Rule

## Steps
1. In Sentry, go to either organization-level "Settings" → "Security & Privacy", or a specific project's "Settings" → "Security & Privacy".
2. Click "Advanced Data Scrubbing" (basic rules are also available directly under the "DATA SCRUBBING" section on the same page).
3. Click "Add Rule".
4. In the dialog, choose the rule method (e.g. Mask, Remove, Hash, Replace), the source field(s) to apply it to, and optionally a condition.
5. Save the rule.

## End state
The rule appears listed under Advanced Data Scrubbing for that organization or project; matching fields in subsequently ingested events are scrubbed before storage and display.
