# Datadog: create a team — Team directory → New Team

## Steps
1. In the Datadog app, open the Team directory page.
2. Click "New Team" at the upper right.
3. Enter a "Team Name".
4. Use the dropdown menus to select team members and team managers.
5. Optionally enter a "Description".
6. Click "Create".

## End state
The team appears in the team directory with its handle, member count, and manager(s); it can then be used to scope ownership on monitors, dashboards, and on-call schedules.
