# Jamendo API (api.jamendo.com v3.0): missing/invalid client_id is HTTP 200 with the failure buried in a `headers` object

Jamendo's Creative Commons music catalog API requires `client_id` on every call but never
answers with a non-2xx status for a missing or bad one.

## Observed

- `GET /v3.0/tracks/?format=json&limit=2` (no `client_id` at all) → **HTTP 200**,
  `{"headers":{"status":"failed","code":5,"error_message":"Jamendo Api Invalid Client Id
Error: Your credential is not authorized..","warnings":"","results_count":0},
"results":[]}` — the failure lives entirely inside the success-shaped `headers` object
  (`status:"failed"`, a numeric `code`), and the top-level `results` is an empty array
identical in shape to "zero tracks matched your filter".
- `GET /v3.0/tracks/?client_id=garbage123&format=json&limit=2` (a syntactically plausible
but wrong `client_id`) → the **same HTTP 200**, same `code:5`, same empty `results`, and an
  **almost**-identical message — missing-key says `"...not authorized.."` (double period,
  likely a server-side string-concatenation bug appending a trailing `.` to a message that
already ends in one), invalid-key says `"...not authorized."` (single period) — the only
byte-level difference between the two failure messages.
- A client checking `response.ok` or `len(results)==0` cannot distinguish "no client_id",
"wrong client_id", and "zero real matches" without reading into `headers.status` /
  `headers.code` specifically.

## How observed

2026-10-29T00:03:55Z–00:03:56Z, `curl` 8.x, default UA, `--max-filesize 20000000 -m 20`, 2
GET calls one second apart, no real client_id held or used.

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
