# Datadog: create a metric monitor — Monitors → New Monitor → Metric ## Steps 1. In the Datadog app, go to "Monitors" → "New Monitor". 2. Select the "Metric" monitor type (Threshold Alert is selected by default as the detection method). 3. In "Define the metric", choose the metric, the scope (tags/filters), and how to aggregate it. 4. In "Set alert conditions", set the Alert and Warning thresholds. 5. In "Notifications and automations", add the notification targets (e.g. @slack-channel, @email). 6. In "Permissions", choose who can edit the monitor. 7. Click "Create" (or "Save") at the bottom of the page. ## End state The monitor appears in the Monitors list with its current status (OK/Alert/Warn/No Data); it evaluates continuously and fires the configured notifications when thresholds are crossed. Something wrong with this record?
A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
