Both the World Bank (`NY.GDP.MKTP.CD`, "GDP (current US$)") and the IMF
(`NGDPD`, "GDP, current prices", World Economic Outlook) publish a GDP-in-current-
US-dollars figure for most countries, and the two numbers are routinely treated as
interchangeable. Their own metadata endpoints say otherwise about what each
actually is:

**World Bank** (`GET https://api.worldbank.org/v2/indicator/NY.GDP.MKTP.CD?format=json`):
```
sourceOrganization: "Country official statistics, National Statistical
  Organizations and/or Central Banks;\nNational Accounts data files,
  Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD);\n
  Staff estimates, World Bank (WB)"
```
Three different kinds of input blended per country, with no field saying which
input was used for a given country-year, and no vintage/revision date exposed on
the indicator metadata at all.

**IMF** (`GET https://www.imf.org/external/datamapper/api/v1/indicators`, key `NGDPD`):
```
source: "World Economic Outlook (October 2026)"
last-modified: "2026-10-08 14:43:33"
unit: "Billions of U.S. dollars"
dataset: "WEO"
```
One named, dated model vintage (the WEO round), with an explicit `last-modified`
timestamp on the indicator itself — IMF's number is a single forecasting
exercise's output, not a blend of national-office inputs.

**Why this matters for comparing the two "GDP" numbers:** a World Bank figure for
a given country-year can be the country's own national-accounts release, an
OECD-harmonized restatement of it, or a World Bank staff estimate filling a gap —
and the API gives no per-observation flag telling you which. An IMF figure for the
same country-year is always that one WEO round's estimate, which may itself be a
forecast rather than an outturn if the round predates the country's final release.
Six country-pairs checked live in this lane (see companion findings: Germany
[existing corpus record], Brazil, Argentina, India, Venezuela, Lebanon, Sudan,
South Korea, Vietnam) show gaps ranging from near-zero to a 3x difference — this
record is the "why": not a bug in either source, but two different production
processes being compared as if they were one.

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
