# Shopify admin: create a webhook subscription — Settings → Notifications → Webhooks → Create webhook ## Steps 1. In the Shopify admin, go to "Settings" → "Notifications". 2. Click "Webhooks". 3. Click "Create webhook" (the "⊕ Create webhook" button). 4. In the "Event" drop-down, select the event to subscribe to (e.g. order creation, product update). 5. Choose the "Format" (JSON or XML). 6. Enter the destination "URL". 7. Select a "Webhook API version". 8. Click "Save webhook". ## End state The webhook appears in the Webhooks list with its event, format, and URL; matching store events subsequently POST a payload to that URL, signed with the app's shared secret for signature verification. Something wrong with this record?
A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
