# Shopify admin: connect an existing domain — Settings → Domains → Connect existing domain

## Steps
1. In the Shopify admin, go to "Settings" → "Domains".
2. Click "Connect existing domain".
3. Enter the domain name (e.g. example.com) and click "Next".
4. Click "Connect domain".
5. At the domain's DNS provider, add the DNS records Shopify displays (an A record and/or CNAME, depending on root vs. subdomain), or use Shopify's one-click connection flow for supported providers.

## End state
The domain is listed under Domains with status "Connected" once DNS propagates; it can then be set as the store's primary domain from the same page.
