# HubSpot: create a private app and get an access token — Settings → Integrations → Private Apps → Create a private app

## Steps
1. Click the settings icon in the top-right corner of the HubSpot homepage.
2. In the left sidebar, click the "Integrations" drop-down and select "Private Apps". (Requires a super admin account.)
3. On the Private apps page, click "Create a private app".
4. Under the "Basic Info" tab, enter a Name and Description.
5. Open the "Scopes" tab and select the scopes the app needs.
6. Click "Create app", then confirm in the dialog.
7. In the confirmation modal, click "Show Token" then "Copy", and save the token — it is shown only this once.

## End state
The app appears on the Private Apps page with its name and granted scope count; its token (visible again via "Auth" tab → "Show token" while signed in as the creator or another super admin) authenticates HubSpot API calls.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
