# Microsoft Entra admin center: add a user — Entra ID → Users → New user → Create new user

## Steps
1. Sign in to the Microsoft Entra admin center as at least a User Administrator.
2. Browse to Entra ID → Users.
3. Select "New user" at the top of the pane, then select "Create new user".
4. Enter the "User principal name" (e.g. b.simon@yourtenant.com) and the "Display name".
5. Fill in details under the "Groups and roles", "Settings", and "Job info" sections as needed.
6. Select "Create".

## End state
The new account appears in the Users list with the entered display name and UPN; a temporary password is generated unless one was manually set.
