# Linear: create a label — Settings → Workspace → Labels (or Team settings → Labels)

## Steps
1. Go to Settings → Workspace → "Labels" for a workspace-wide label, or a specific team's settings → "Labels" for a team-scoped label.
2. Create the new label there, or type a new label name in an issue's "Add label" flow, which prompts creating it at workspace or team level on the fly.

## End state
The label is listed under Labels at the scope it was created and is selectable on issues within that scope.
