# Notion: change a member's role — Settings → Members → Members tab → role dropdown next to their name

## Steps
1. Go to "Settings" → "Members" (or "People").
2. Open the "Members" tab.
3. Find the member's row and open the role dropdown next to their name.
4. Select the new role: Workspace owner, Membership admin, or Member.

## End state
The member's role updates immediately in the Members list and their workspace-wide permissions change to match the new role.
