# Vercel: add a custom domain — Project → Settings → Domains → Add Domain

## Steps
1. From the dashboard, select the project.
2. Open "Settings" in the sidebar, then select "Domains".
3. Click the "Add Domain" button.
4. Enter the domain name (adding an apex domain prompts you to also add the `www` subdomain).
5. Configure the DNS records Vercel shows (A record for an apex domain, CNAME for a subdomain, or switch to Vercel Nameservers).

## End state
Once DNS is configured and Vercel verifies it, the domain's status in the UI updates to show it is properly configured and ready for use.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
