# Cloudflare: create a D1 database — D1 SQL database → Create Database

## Steps
1. Dashboard → "D1 SQL database" page.
2. Select "Create Database".
3. Name the database (recommended: ASCII characters, under 32 characters, dashes instead of spaces, descriptive of use-case/environment).
4. Optionally provide a location hint.
5. Select "Create".

## End state
The database is listed on the D1 SQL database page under its name and is immediately queryable (via the dashboard's console, Wrangler, or a Worker binding).

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
