# AWS Console: attach a managed policy — IAM console → Policies → select policy → Actions → Attach

## Steps
1. Open the IAM console → "Policies".
2. Select the radio button next to the policy to attach (use the search box to filter).
3. Choose "Actions", then "Attach".
4. Select one or more identities (users, groups, or roles) to attach it to.
5. Choose "Attach policy".

## End state
The policy's permissions apply to the selected identities immediately; the policy's "Entities attached" tab lists them, and each identity's own Permissions tab lists the policy.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
