# Google Cloud Console: grant an IAM role — IAM & Admin → IAM → Grant access

## Steps
1. Go to the IAM page, select the project.
2. Click "Grant access".
3. In the "New principals" field, enter the user/service-account identifier (email).
4. Select a role from the role dropdown.
5. Click "Save".

## End state
The principal now appears on the IAM page's permissions list with the granted role attached, and API calls it makes that require that role's permissions succeed.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
