# GitHub: create a new repository — + icon (top right) → New repository

## Steps
1. In the upper-right corner of any page, select the "+" icon.
2. Click "New repository" (or go directly to github.com/new).
3. Fill in the owner, repository name, description, visibility, and optional initialization (README, .gitignore, license); click "Create repository".

## End state
The new repository's main page loads at `github.com/<owner>/<repo>`, empty or with the chosen initial files.
