# GitHub: create a fine-grained personal access token — Settings → Developer settings → Personal access tokens → Fine-grained tokens → Generate new token ## Steps 1. Click your profile picture (top right) → "Settings". 2. In the left sidebar, click "Developer settings". 3. Under "Personal access tokens", click "Fine-grained tokens". 4. Click "Generate new token". 5. Name the token, set an expiration, choose the resource owner and repository access, and set the specific permissions needed; click "Generate token". ## End state The new token value is shown once on the Fine-grained tokens page; it is listed there afterward by name with its expiration and scope, and authenticates API/git requests until expiry or revocation. Something wrong with this record?
A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
