# Stripe: create a customer-facing promotion code — Create a coupon page → Use customer-facing promotion codes

## Steps
1. Dashboard → Create a coupon page (dashboard.stripe.com/coupons/create).
2. Click "Use customer-facing promotion codes".
3. Enter a Code (the string customers type at checkout); Stripe generates one if left blank.
4. Select requirements for the code: Limit to a specific customer, Eligible for first-time order only, Require minimum order value, Add an expiration date, Limit the number of times this code can be redeemed.
5. Finish creating the coupon (the promotion code is created together with it).

## End state
The promotion code is listed under the coupon it maps to; a Checkout Session with `allow_promotion_codes` enabled now shows a redemption box where the code applies the coupon's discount.
