# Stripe: create a coupon — Products page → Coupons → +New

## Steps
1. Dashboard → Products page (dashboard.stripe.com/products).
2. Click "Coupons".
3. Click "+New".
4. In the "Create a coupon" dialog, set Name, optional ID, Type (percentage or fixed amount off), the discount amount, optional product restriction, Duration, and optional redemption limits.
5. Click "Create coupon".

## End state
The coupon is listed on the Coupons page; applying it to a subscription (Dashboard: open the subscription → Actions → Update subscription → Add coupon) creates a Discount object on that subscription's invoices.
