# Slack: subscribe to events — Features → Event Subscriptions → Enable Events

## Steps
1. Open App Management → select the app → Features → "Event Subscriptions".
2. Toggle the Events API feature on.
3. Choose a delivery method: a Request URL, or Socket Mode.
4. In the subscription manager, add events under "Workspace Events" (needs a matching OAuth scope) or "Bot Events" (on behalf of the app's bot user).

## End state
The chosen events are listed under Bot Events/Workspace Events and the app starts receiving a POST (or Socket Mode payload) for each one as it occurs.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
