# Slack: add an Incoming Webhook — Features → Incoming Webhooks → Activate → Add New Webhook to Workspace

## Steps
1. Open the app's settings page (api.slack.com/apps → select app).
2. Select "Incoming Webhooks" and toggle "Activate Incoming Webhooks" on.
3. Click "Add New Webhook to Workspace".
4. Choose the channel to post to on the permissions screen and click "Authorize".

## End state
A new URL is listed under "Webhook URLs for Your Workspace", in the form `https://hooks.slack.com/services/T000.../B000.../XXXX...`; POSTing a JSON payload to it posts a message to the chosen channel.
