# Supabase: find the connection string or pooler URL — Connect button → connection method

## Steps
1. Dashboard → open project.
2. Click "Connect" at the top of the page.
3. Choose a connection method (Direct connection, Session pooler, or Transaction pooler).
4. Copy the shown connection string and replace `[YOUR-PASSWORD]` with the database password.

## End state
A complete `postgres://` URL for the chosen method, with the correct host and port already filled in — the docs warn the pooler host "can't be composed" and must be copied from this dialog rather than guessed.
