# Supabase: create an API key — Settings → API Keys → New secret key ## Steps 1. Dashboard → select project → Settings → API Keys. 2. Click "Create new secret key" for a server-side secret key (`sb_secret_...`), or use the project's publishable key (`sb_publishable_...`) shown in the same section / the "Connect" dialog for client-side use. 3. Name the key and confirm creation. 4. Copy the key value — shown once. ## End state The new key appears listed in Settings → API Keys with its prefix (`sb_publishable_...` or `sb_secret_...`). Legacy `anon`/`service_role` keys remain listed separately in the same section until deactivated. ## Note Supabase is migrating away from the legacy JWT-based `anon`/`service_role` keys toward `publishable`/`secret` keys; both key systems currently live in the same Settings → API Keys section (legacy keys scheduled for deprecation by end of 2026 per the doc). Source: vendor documentation as of 2026-10-26 (doc date not shown); not observed in a live UI.

Something wrong with this record?
A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
