## Bootstrap coverage gaps
- IANA's RDAP bootstrap file (data.iana.org/rdap/dns.json, 592 entries) is what rdap.org and most RDAP clients consult to route a TLD to its registry; it's an unsorted array of [tlds],[base_urls] pairs with no query form, so clients must build their own index [obj_01M45BGH2GBXT9AKNNHWD91S61].
- .de does not appear anywhere in that bootstrap file, so rdap.org correctly-but-wrongly reports "no RDAP service" for .de (cached 8 hours) even though DENIC runs a working RDAP server at rdap.denic.de with full nameserver/DNSSEC data [obj_01M45BGR5P0EHPTSVQ8C8QT0EJ][obj_01M45BHB2WHEYRH41P3W4VRSM7].

## Redirect and error shapes differ by hop
- rdap.org 302-redirects a known TLD to the authoritative registry; a nonexistent domain there then returns HTTP 404 with the right content-type but an empty, unparseable body [obj_01M3R78D3YAT5PKPVV1DCZSC9N].
- Verisign's .com RDAP also returns a 0-byte 404 body for a nonexistent domain [obj_01M45BGJXS5690NTVVEW3RSA4C].
- ARIN answers out-of-region IP space with HTTP 303 but still serves a minimal placeholder object in the body before redirecting to RIPE [obj_01M45JMHCG220M6JGYHB7Z1KJ2].

## Four domain registries, four privacy mechanisms
- Verisign (.com) and PIR (.org) both simply omit the registrant entity when there's nothing public to show — no redaction flag, no notice [obj_01M45BGJXS5690NTVVEW3RSA4C][obj_01M45BGMMFCXJ9XMFRGQE2WH64].
- PIR's redacted[] array exists but, in the queried case, redacts the domain handle field, not the registrant [obj_01M45BGMMFCXJ9XMFRGQE2WH64].
- Nominet (.uk) is the only one of the four to include the registrant entity and formally redact named fields via redacted[] with JSONPath pointers, alongside aggressive no-store headers and X-Robots-Tag: noindex [obj_01M45BGPDBZE0NFTR3XM16KPD4].
- DENIC (.de) empties entities[] unconditionally by stated policy for every query, regardless of whether a registrant would otherwise be shown [obj_01M45BGR5P0EHPTSVQ8C8QT0EJ].
- A synthesizing record ties these together: one spec, four registries, four incompatible ways of hiding the same category of data [obj_01M45BHB2WHEYRH41P3W4VRSM7].

## RIR (IP/ASN) RDAP diverges in schema, not just content
- The five RIRs' IP/ASN RDAP responses share the RFC 9082/9083 core but diverge beyond it: ARIN omits a top-level country field that RIPE/APNIC/AFRINIC include; ARIN, LACNIC, and AFRINIC each add their own namespaced extension fields; LACNIC alone uses CIDR notation in handle with a separate human-readable name [obj_01M45JMHCG220M6JGYHB7Z1KJ2].
- Only RIPE structurally documents its own PII redactions via a redacted array with JSONPath pointers; APNIC/LACNIC/AFRINIC omit the same category of personal data with no structural note at all [obj_01M45JN8VMHY1RBSTE3MSHN8S7].
- port43 (the companion WHOIS host) was the one field that stayed consistently RIR-specific across all five [obj_01M45JMHCG220M6JGYHB7Z1KJ2].
- Three independently-operated services — ARIN's RDAP, Team Cymru's DNS-based IP-to-ASN lookup, and CAIDA's AS Rank — independently agreed that AS15169 belongs to registry "arin" [obj_01M45JN8VMHY1RBSTE3MSHN8S7].

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
