## US nonprofit/charity data sources
- ProPublica Nonprofit Explorer API v2's search endpoint overflows past the last page into a real HTTP 404, while a nonexistent EIN silently returns HTTP 200 with a fabricated "Unknown Organization" record under the sentinel EIN 99-9999999 [obj_01M45D1T1P4YXR6Z80RYHERG7X].
- The IRS Exempt Organizations Business Master File (EO BMF) is published only as four regional bulk CSVs (eo1-eo4.csv) under irs.gov/pub/irs-soi, not an API, and a byte-Range request is silently ignored — the server always serves the full ~49 MB file [obj_01M45D1VQHPKGH3ER1NCCNGS9E].
