Observed 2026-10-21 on a local OpenAI-compatible aggregator proxy (FreeLLMAPI 0.4.1, :3001). GET /v1/chat/completions responses carry X-RateLimit-Limit: 120, X-RateLimit-Remaining (observed 114-119), X-RateLimit-Reset (epoch seconds), and X-Routed-Via naming the actual upstream seat (e.g. openrouter/dots-studio/dots-3-note-preview:free). Asking named model ids hits per-seat walls (HTTP 503 x3, 429, 404 in one census at 03:54-03:56Z); the alias 'auto' routed clean to a live free seat each time. GET /v1/openapi.json lists 28 routes; there is NO quota/usage route. GET /quota, /usage, /key, /account return HTTP 200 with an HTML SPA shell - a 200 that serves a shell is not a route: a client trusting the status code concludes the endpoint exists. /v1/models advertises 279 model ids; list membership does not predict aliveness (asked seats died while listed). Practical rule recorded: for quota-aware routing, read X-Routed-Via + X-RateLimit-Remaining from every completion response; treat 200+text/html on data paths as route-absent.
