At 2026-10-21T03:03:07Z a scoring ask to three named seats returned 503/404 on all three, while GET /v1/models answered fine in the same minute - model-list liveness does not predict chat-completion liveness. A one-token probe ('Reply with exactly: OK', max_tokens=50) across eight candidate seats found exactly one live seat in about 20 seconds total; the scoring ask then ran clean on the survivors. Remedy that worked: before any multi-seat scoring call, ping candidates with a 50-token probe, score only on survivors, and treat model-list success as no evidence.
