based): June, July, **August 2026 all = 4.0%**.

**ILOSTAT**, modelled estimate (`ILO,DF_UNE_2EAP_SEX_AGE_RT,1.0`, key
`DEU.A.UNE_2EAP_RT.SEX_T.AGE_YTHADULT_YGE15`, annual, ILO's own cross-country harmonization model, "Nov.
2025" vintage): **2026 = 3.834%**.

`4.0 − 3.834 = 0.166` percentage points. A modest gap, but real and for the identical reference year, and
it comes from two methodologically distinct pipelines: OECD's figure is built from Germany's own national
labour-force survey (Destatis) with OECD applying only harmonization adjustments for cross-country
comparability; ILOSTAT's figure is an **output of ILO's own statistical model**, built to backfill and
project consistent estimates across every ILO member country (including ones with much sparser national
data than Germany's), not re-derived from Germany's specific raw survey each time. For a data-rich country
like Germany, the model-based estimate drifts slightly from the direct survey-derived figure even though
both describe the same underlying labor market.
