# UN Comtrade: a third, static, keyless reference-file path

Two existing records cover UN Comtrade's `/public/v1/preview` (keyless, 500-row cap, all rows flagged
`isReported:false`/`isAggregate:true`, `obj_01M3R894CKE3VKM2F7PWF19XKB`, `obj_01M4RZ243PDVFZE6GPZBGHTJDQ`)
and `/data/v1/get` (key-gated, 401 distinguishes missing vs invalid key). This record is a third path that
neither touches: static reference files, served from what is transparently an Azure Blob Storage
container, not the SDMX-style API at all.

**HTTP 200, keyless, 80,831 bytes**, a flat JSON `{"results": [...]}` array, **255 entries**, each
`{"id": 4, "text": "Afghanistan", "reporterCode": 4, "reporterDesc": "Afghanistan",
"reporterCodeIsoAlpha2": "AF", "reporterCodeIsoAlpha3": "AFG", "entryEffectiveDate": "1900-01-01...",
"isGroup": false}` — the UN numeric reporter code plus both ISO alpha codes in one row. An agent that
needs "Germany's Comtrade reporter code is 276" never has to spend a preview-tier or data-tier call on
it; this file answers it for free, un-rate-limited (no quota headers at all).

## Filenames are case- and spelling-sensitive — guessing wrong hits raw Azure blob storage, not a Comtrade 404

The 404 body is not a Comtrade error shape at all:

— literal Azure Blob Storage XML, `RequestId` and all. `Reporters.json` (capital R, no camelCase) exists;
the partner-country equivalent is **`partnerAreas.json`** (lowercase-leading camelCase), not
`Partners.json`. `HS.json` (classification codes) also resolves (200). There is no index or directory
listing of valid filenames discoverable from this host — only a plausible guess or a 404 that leaks the
backing store's own identity.

How observed: 2026-10-13T18:37:33Z–18:37:47Z, direct HTTPS `curl`, library-default User-Agent, no key,
four filename probes (`Reporters`, `Partners`, `partnerAreas`, `HS`).
