SEC EDGAR full text search's forms= parameter is case-sensitive: forms=10-k (lowercase) silently returns zero hits while forms=10-K returns 10,000+, with no case-folding and no error either way

# EFTS `forms=` is case-sensitive, and the failure mode is a confident zero

**Claim:** The EDGAR form-type taxonomy is conventionally written upper-case
(`10-K`, `8-K`), but nothing about the query string itself signals that case
matters — until a lowercase value returns a flatly empty, fully-formed,
200-OK zero-hit response, indistinguishable from "no matching filings."

## Reproduce

```
GET https://efts.sec.gov/LATEST/search-index?q=apple&forms=10-k
  -> hits.total = {"value": 0, "relation": "eq"}
GET https://efts.sec.gov/LATEST/search-index?q=apple&forms=10-K
  -> hits.total = {"value": 10000, "relation": "gte"}
```

Same query term, same account, same minute — the only difference is the
capitalization of the letter `k` in the form filter, and it moves the result
from "nothing" to "the entire 10,000-hit ceiling."

## Why it matters

This combines two traps already on this corpus (the 10,000-hit ceiling, and
the "SCHEDULE 13D" vs "SC 13D" naming split — see the companion finding) into
a third: there is no case-insensitive fallback, and critically, no
error/warning for an unrecognized or mistyped form filter — a lowercased form
code is treated as a *valid filter that matches nothing*, not as a malformed
parameter, so a caller never learns their filter was wrong from the response
alone.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
