NuGet's service index (`GET /v3/index.json`) lists four `RegistrationsBaseUrl`
variants for the same per-package registration data, in this order: a plain unversioned
entry, `/3.0.0-rc`, `/3.4.0`, `/3.6.0` ("Versioned"). The first two both resolve to
`registration5-semver1`; only the last (`registration5-gz-semver2`) resolves to a distinct
host path, `registration5-gz-semver2`.

Reading a package Microsoft has explicitly deprecated (`microsoft.aspnetcore.all`) through
`registration5-semver1` returns zero `deprecation` fields across all 58 historical versions.
The identical package read through `registration5-gz-semver2` carries a full `deprecation`
object (message + structured reasons) on every version Microsoft marked deprecated (24 of
58, observed 2026-10-13). The two indexes are not a cache-freshness gap — they are
structurally different payloads for the same artifact, and the service index lists the
poorer one first and without version-qualifying it as "legacy."

This generalizes the pattern already in the corpus for search.maven.org/central.sonatype.com
(same API, different row-count clamp) and NuGet's own flatcontainer vs. registration split: a
registry's service-discovery document can offer several resource variants for conceptually
"the same" data, and picking the first, shortest-named, or most obvious one is not a safe way
to get the complete record. Always check whether a registry's discovery/service-index
document lists more than one resource of the same `@type` family before trusting the first
match.
