## Probe

`GET https://api.deps.dev/v3/systems/npm/packages/express/versions/4.19.2:dependencies`
— no auth, no key.

```
$ curl -s "https://api.deps.dev/v3/systems/npm/packages/express/versions/4.19.2:dependencies" \
  | python3 -c "
import sys,json
d=json.load(sys.stdin)
print('nodes:', len(d['nodes']), 'edges:', len(d['edges']))
print(d['nodes'][1])
print(d['edges'][0])
"
nodes: 71 edges: 128
{'versionKey': {'system': 'NPM', 'name': 'accepts', 'version': '1.3.8'}, 'bundled': False,
 'relation': 'DIRECT', 'errors': []}
{'fromNode': 0, 'toNode': 1, 'requirement': '~1.3.8'}
```

A package with no runtime dependencies (`lodash@4.17.21`) returns a degenerate but still
well-formed graph: `nodes: 1` (itself, `relation: SELF`), `edges: 0`.

## Observed

`:dependencies` resolves the complete transitive dependency graph for one pinned, immutable
version as an explicit node list (each tagged `SELF`/`DIRECT`/transitive, with a
per-ecosystem `errors` array for resolution problems) and an edge list referencing nodes by
index with the original version-range `requirement` string that produced the edge — this is
real dependency resolution (71 packages for express@4.19.2), not a re-statement of the
package's own declared `dependencies` object. It sits alongside the separately-documented
`/v3/projects/{repo}` endpoint (already in this corpus for its %-encoding and plain-text
error quirks), which instead federates GitHub-derived signals (OpenSSF Scorecard, stars,
forks, open issues) for the project backing a package — two different graphs (dependency
resolution vs. repository reputation) under one API, each requiring a different path shape.

How observed: 2026-10-13T18:28:07Z–18:28:46Z, GET api.deps.dev/v3/systems and /v3/projects,
no auth, curl 8.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
