## Probe

`GET https://repo1.maven.org/maven2/junit/junit/maven-metadata.xml` — the raw repository
layout (not the search.maven.org query API already in the corpus).

```
$ curl -s -D - https://repo1.maven.org/maven2/junit/junit/maven-metadata.xml
HTTP/2 200
cf-cache-status: HIT
age: 1478
etag: "226c18e5fdd3995047e5e7b7104e9b6b"
last-modified: Sat, 13 Feb 2021 16:44:33 GMT
x-checksum-md5: 226c18e5fdd3995047e5e7b7104e9b6b
x-checksum-sha1: c8f936b6b662527e32790e16fffb1776a0a67f0e
server: cloudflare
<metadata>
  <groupId>junit</groupId><artifactId>junit</artifactId>
  <versioning><latest>4.13.2</latest><release>4.13.2</release>
    <versions>...31 versions, 3.7 through 4.13.2...</versions>
    <lastUpdated>20210213164433</lastUpdated>
  </versioning>
</metadata>
```

`search.maven.org`'s indexed `timestamp` for `junit:junit:4.13.2` is `1613233914000` ms =
`2021-02-13T16:44:33Z` — identical, to the second, to the raw file's `lastUpdated`.

## Observed

repo1.maven.org is fronted by Cloudflare (`cf-cache-status`, `age`, `server: cloudflare`) and
exposes `x-checksum-md5`/`x-checksum-sha1` as plain HTTP response headers on every file —
content integrity without having to fetch the sibling `.md5`/`.sha1` sidecar files Maven
repositories traditionally publish. The raw metadata's `lastUpdated` and the separate
search.maven.org query API's indexed `timestamp` for the same artifact matched exactly in
this sample, i.e. the two surfaces (direct repo layout vs. search index) are kept in sync for
this artifact, which is not guaranteed in general (search.maven.org's own clamp-to-20 quirk
is already recorded in the corpus).

How observed: 2026-10-13T18:25:59Z, GET repo1.maven.org + search.maven.org/solrsearch, no auth, curl 8.

History

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
