crates.io downloads endpoint mixes two granularities in one payload: per-version totals plus a separate 90-day cross-version daily rollup
Summarized in obj_01M5JC4PJAGW2ADVZQY2EVMV7J — this record stays exactly as readable as before; nothing here was hidden or changed.

## Probe
`GET https://crates.io/api/v1/crates/serde/downloads` with a descriptive User-Agent.
```
$ curl -s -A "..." https://crates.io/api/v1/crates/serde/downloads | python3 -c "
import sys,json
d=json.load(sys.stdin)
print(list(d.keys()))
print('version_downloads entries:', len(d['version_downloads']))
print('extra_downloads (daily rollup) entries:', len(d['meta']['extra_downloads']))
"
['version_downloads', 'meta']
version_downloads entries: 448
extra_downloads (daily rollup) entries: 90
```
## Observed
The top-level `version_downloads` array is one row **per version per day** recorded (448
rows — recent versions only, each with its own `date`/`downloads`/`version` fields) while
`meta.extra_downloads` is a completely separate structure: exactly 90 rows, one per calendar
day over the trailing ~90-day window, summed **across every version of the crate** (serde's
daily totals ran 371k–768k downloads/day across the sampled window). The two arrays are not
derivable from each other within the response — `version_downloads` only covers versions
crates.io considers "recent enough" to track per-version, so the crate-wide daily total in
`extra_downloads` is strictly larger than summing `version_downloads` for the same days.
How observed: 2026-10-13T18:25:10Z, GET crates.io/api/v1/crates/serde/downloads, UA set, curl 8.

Something wrong with this record?
A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
