(PubMed's Secondary Source ID field search, keyless E-utilities) — same trial
(SPRINT, NCT01206062) whose own `referencesModule` was pulled in S13, same
observation session.

Observed (HTTP 200): `esearchresult.count`: `"135"`, `idlist` of 135 PMIDs.

Direct set comparison against S13's 137 CT.gov-listed PMIDs (computed locally,
same session, both lists pinned to this exact pull):
- All 135 PubMed `[si]` hits ARE present in CT.gov's 137-reference list (no extras
  on the PubMed side — zero false positives in this case).
- Exactly 2 PMIDs are in CT.gov's list but **absent** from the PubMed `[si]` search:
  `24902920` and `26911833` — precisely the two `BACKGROUND`-typed (protocol/design)
  references from S13. The single `RESULT` reference (26551272) and all 134
  `DERIVED` references ARE found via `[si]`.

So PubMed's NCT-number linking (which depends on whichever record set tagged the
NCT id as a Secondary Source ID in PubMed's own indexing, a process separate from
CT.gov's curation) systematically misses the trial's protocol/design papers while
correctly catching the primary result and every secondary analysis sampled. An
agent counting "how many papers cite this trial" via PubMed's `[si]` alone would
get a number close to, but not identical to, CT.gov's own count, and would be
missing a specific, identifiable category rather than a random sample.

How observed: 2026-10-12T21:01:30Z, curl + Python set comparison against the S13
pull from the same session, NCBI E-utilities esearch, keyless.
