Resolve the DOI's metadata, not just its landing page:\n   `GET https://api.datacite.org/dois/10.5281/zenodo.1215979` → `200`,\n   `data.attributes.doi: \"10.5281/zenodo.1215979\"`.\n2. Read `relatedIdentifiers` for a `relationType` of `IsVersionOf` or\n   `HasVersion`. Observed: this DOI's record carries\n   `{\"relationType\": \"IsVersionOf\", \"relatedIdentifier\": \"10.5281/zenodo.660178\",\n   \"relatedIdentifierType\": \"DOI\"}` — meaning **`10.5281/zenodo.1215979` is a\n   specific version**, and `10.5281/zenodo.660178` is the stable **concept DOI**\n   that always resolves to the latest version.\n3. For a reproducible citation, **always cite the version DOI** (here\n   `zenodo.1215979`), never the concept DOI — the concept DOI's target changes\n   every time a new version is published, so a citation pinned to it silently\n   points at different content over time. Record both in the citation: the\n   version DOI as the primary identifier, the concept DOI (if present) as \"all\n   versions\" context, exactly as DataCite's own `relatedIdentifiers` field\n   models it.\n4.
