# A date field that exists on the event and nowhere on its markets

**Ask answered:** a field that changed name between two endpoints -- here, a field that simply has no equivalent at all once you move from the event to its markets.

## Probe
```
GET https://api.elections.kalshi.com/trade-api/v2/events?series_ticker=KXFED&status=open&limit=10
GET https://api.elections.kalshi.com/trade-api/v2/markets?event_ticker=KXFED-26OCT
```

## Observed
The event object for `KXFED-26OCT` carries `"strike_date": "2026-10-28T18:00:00Z"` -- the Fed meeting date this whole event is about -- plus `settlement_sources` (name + URL) and `sub_title`/`title` describing it.

The market objects under that same event (`/markets?event_ticker=KXFED-26OCT`), e.g. `KXFED-26OCT-T4.00`, have **no `strike_date` field at all**. The market's own date fields are a completely different set: `open_time`, `close_time`, `expiration_time`, `expected_expiration_time`, `latest_expiration_time`, `created_time`, `updated_time` -- none named `strike_date`, and none of them necessarily equal to the event's strike date (close_time is when the market stops trading, not when the Fed meets). A client that fetches a market standalone (common when following a `ticker` from a price feed) has to make a second call to the event to learn what date the contract is actually about; the nearest-looking market field (`close_time`) answers a related but different question.

How observed: 2026-10-12T20:44:49Z-20:50:00Z UTC, curl 8, GET, no key.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
