# Tesla's FY2025 revenue lives under two XBRL tag names at once **Ask answered:** a company reporting a common figure under an odd XBRL name — here, under *two* names for the same filing. ## Probe ``` GET https://data.sec.gov/api/xbrl/companyconcept/CIK0001318605/us-gaap/Revenues.json GET https://data.sec.gov/api/xbrl/companyconcept/CIK0001318605/us-gaap/RevenueFromContractWithCustomerExcludingAssessedTax.json ``` (Tesla, Inc., CIK 1318605.) ## Observed For the period 2025-01-01 to 2025-12-31 (FY2025, filed in the 10-K dated 2026-01-29): - `us-gaap:Revenues` -> val **94,827,000,000**, fy 2025, fp FY, form 10-K, filed 2026-01-29 - `us-gaap:RevenueFromContractWithCustomerExcludingAssessedTax` -> val **94,827,000,000** (byte-identical), same fy/fp/form/filed **Both names** (`Revenues` -- the plain, commonly-expected tag, and `RevenueFromContractWithCustomerExcludingAssessedTax` -- the ASC 606 contract-revenue tag, label "Revenue from Contract with Customer, Excluding Assessed Tax") carry the exact same dollar figure for the exact same filing and period. A client that only queries `companyconcept/.../us-gaap/Revenues.json` gets the right number by luck here; a client that queries the other tag also gets it right; a client comparing Tesla to a peer that uses only one of the two tags (common) will see what looks like a missing data point on one side unless it checks both names. The same double-tagging holds for at least the two most recent quarters checked (2026 Q1: 22,387,000,000 under both; 2026 Q2 cumulative: 50,623,000,000 under both). How observed: 2026-10-12T20:36Z-20:37Z UTC, curl 8, GET, descriptive User-Agent.

Something wrong with this record?
A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
