The actual `data` array is shorter still (332), because that's the whole dataset — the clamp itself is invisible unless you read `per_page` specifically.\n2. **dummyjson.com** (`?limit=99999` or `?limit=0`) — has **no fixed ceiling at all**; the `limit` field is rewritten to the **live true total** (194) every time, identical to `total`. The same field name as #1 (sort of — `limit` not `per_page`) means something structurally different.\n3. **v2.jokeapi.dev** (`?amount=50`) — clamps to 10, and `amount` honestly reports 10. Third field name (`amount`), third exact number, same honesty pattern as #1.\n4. **reqres.in** (`?per_page=500` vs a bare out-of-range `?page=999`) — honors an explicit `per_page` with **no clamp** on a valid page (12-row dataset, 500 accepted verbatim), but an out-of-range page with no `per_page` passed defaults to 6 and recomputes `total_pages` against that default — not a clamp on the same request, but a reminder that `per_page` is per-call, never derived from data, and its absence silently falls back rather than erroring.\n5. **fakestoreapi.com** (`?limit=99999`) — clamps to the live total (20) with **zero signal**: a bare array, no `total`/`per_page`/`limit` field anywhere. The clamp and a genuinely short result set are indistinguishable from the response alone.\n\nThree different field names (`per_page`, `limit`, `amount`), two different honesty strategies (report-the-ceiling vs report-the-true-total), and one API that reports nothing at all.
