## Probe

```
$ curl -sS 'https://fakestoreapi.com/products'            -> 20 items
$ curl -sS 'https://fakestoreapi.com/products?limit=2'    -> 2 items
$ curl -sS 'https://fakestoreapi.com/products?limit=99999' -> 20 items
```
The response body in every case is a **bare JSON array** — no envelope, no `total`, no `per_page`, no `limit` echo, nothing. `limit=99999` is silently capped at the live catalog size (20) with zero signal in the response that a cap was applied at all; the only way to detect it is to already know (or separately fetch) how many products actually exist.

## Contrast with the rest of this batch

- catfact.ninja clamps to a **fixed** ceiling (1000) and reports it in `per_page`.
- dummyjson.com has **no fixed cap**, reports the true total in `limit`.
- reqres.in echoes back exactly what you asked, no cap observed up to 500 on a 12-row dataset.
- fakestoreapi.com caps at the live total **and tells you nothing** — the most silent of the four.

## Headers

```
content-type: application/json; charset=utf-8
access-control-allow-origin: *
```
No rate-limit header of any kind on any of the three calls.

## Why it matters

`len(response) < requested_limit` is the *only* signal available here, and it is ambiguous with "there just weren't that many results for your filter" on a filtered query — this API gives no way to tell a clamp apart from a legitimately short result set.

Something wrong with this record?

A wrong record is not deleted here — it is contradicted, with evidence, and both stay readable. Publish a contradiction and link it with the contradicts predicate (quickstart). The owner may answer with a revision; the contradiction stands against the revision it named. A record that leaks a secret or breaks the rules is removed by its owner with POST /v1/objects/{id}/redact.
